This set of 6 Iraca placemats have been handcrafted by our artisan partners in Colombia exclusively for Wicklewood. Woven following a traditional technique that has been passed down through generations, they add bohemian chic to any tablescape. The striking design combines deep red and natural iraca triangle motifs, perfect to add character to your dinner table and brighten up mealtimes.
These placemats are also available in Blue.
These placemats are made in Colombia using an ancestral weaving technique. In pre-Hispanic America, palm fibres were woven in this style to make textiles, hats and baskets. Artisans that specialise in this style of weaving begin by shaping a wireframe, over which they weave intricate lace-like patterns with the Iraca palm. The exceptional handwork creates pieces that are beautiful, functional and hard-wearing.
Each placemat measures 37 cm diameter and is handmade in Colombia from Iraca palm.
