The Art of the Autumn Bed
As the days get shorter and long balmy evenings give way to early nightfall and cosy evenings by the fire, we invariably turn our attention to the bedroom. Where summer was a symphony of light cotton layers and an ever-present fan, come autumn, this sanctuary comes into its own. We love to ensure our bed is the perfect place to curl up with a book before sleep and cosy enough to keep up warm all through winter. Here are our top tips in the carefully honed art of the autumn bed.
1 Layer up Sheets, duvets, quilts, throws - the more the merrier as the mercury plummets. The trick is to think about where layers start and end - try one quilt pulled up and a second fold at the end of the bed. Our double-sided quilts are perfect to add pattern, colour and detail to the layers. |

2 Colour in Consider your colour palette - do you like your bedroom bold and bright for a year-round summer mood, or soft and serene for cosier evenings? Then select fabrics and prints which work with your mood - our double sided cushions are a great way to speedily update a look. 3 Texture, texture, texture Opt for warmer textures during the colder months. As well as digging out your winter duvet, we love to introduce heavier textures - jacquard cushions are a great addition, as well as a bedroom rug to warm chilly morning feet. |

4 Bedside styling When it comes to a bedside table we’re all about mixing practical with pretty. We love a statement pot - and will keep jewellery safe overnight. A pretty decorative tray is the perfect place for a glass of water and your latest read.

5 Well cushioned We’re always championing the styling power of a pile of cushions, and for your autumn bed they’re a fast-track to ultimate comfort. Whether you opt for an artful pile to sink into, or a carefully arranged set up, we recommend an odd number, perfectly plumped. 6 Go oversized On the subject of cushions... an oversized oblong is a great way to pull the look together - lay across the front of your stack by day it will also double as a great reading prop come evening. |

7. Up the wall Think carefully about the wall arrangement above your bed. We love a feature wall - perhaps a series of pine needle baskets, or a montage of mirrors, will tie a scheme together and draw the eye upwards. |
