Move in must-haves

Move in must-haves

House moves happens all year round, but it seems, come September, that the world and his wife are upping sticks and relocating to a new house/flat/cottage by the sea (we can dream…). So whether renting or buying, moving, or helping a friend, we’ve rounded up five things that will ease the transition and instantly make the aforementioned house/flat/cottage into a home.

1. A stack of cushions

A home can never have enough cushions, they add instant colour, pattern and comfort, whether piled onto a sofa, bed, or cosy armchair by the fire. Browse our full cushion collection to choose your favourites, or head straight to our pre-styled trios of coordinating cushions -  simply pick your favourite combination.

2. A sprawling rug

A unique design accent comes via a handwoven rug. Whether you opt for a colourful design, or a pared back piece, a rug adds comfort and style and is guaranteed to brighten your space. Woven in wool, our designs are deliciously soft to sink your feet into, and will cover all manner of floor sins, from worn carpets to ancient floorboards.

3. A cosy quilt

Moving house is tiring, so sleep is at a premium. We suggest adding a cosy quilt to your bed. Not only will it ensure a peaceful slumber, but our double-sided screen printed designs add colour and print to your bedroom (and come complete with a coordinating bag for storage). We even have baby quilts to ensure pint-sized people feel at home, too.

4. A beautiful vase

No home is complete without a collection of vases, and, what’s more, you’ll need somewhere to display all those house-warming flowers. Hand-painted ceramics in beautiful glazes are the perfect aesthetic accent and will look chic on your shelves long after the flowers have been confined to the compost.

5. A colourful tablecloth

From lively welcome dinner parties to cosy evenings post-unpacking, nothing creates a mood like a printed tablecloth. Our selection of screen-printed designs are hand-made by artisans in India and look beautiful for inside or outside dining; handwoven placemats optional.
