Easter Entertaining: How to Decorate Your Table Top

Easter Entertaining: How to Decorate Your Table Top

Bar the guilt-free chocolate indulgence, our favourite part of Easter is getting family and friends around the table for the Easter Sunday festivities. Whether you live in a small rental flat or a spacious country home, whether you're entertaining for 20 or 2, table decor is an absolute must, as well as a fun way to experiment and infuse creativity into your home.

Here are our top tips on how to make your Easter Sunday table extra bold, extra bright and extra beautiful.

Colourful Tablecloths & Placemats

When setting a table, people tend to focus on plates, which quickly get covered in food, and napkins, which quickly get placed on laps, but forget about the table itself. A tablecloth and/or placemat will totally transform a table and set the mood and theme, giving a completely different look to your everyday tablescape.

Go Beyond Spring Pastels

There’s no written rule that says your Easter table needs to be a pastel tone zone. Don’t be afraid to use bold and bright colours to bring Spring indoors. We love to mix and match our handwoven Guatemalan placemats (now available is sets multi-coloured set of 4 and 6) for a more eclectic, playful look.

Seasonal Flowers (in one of a kind vases)

Using spring flowers like daffodils, tulips or daisies on your Easter table will not only add colours but will make your room smell divine. Scatter them in quirky, one-of-a kind vases, like these double and triple layer hand thrown beauties from South Africa, down the centre of the table for a less traditional look.

Mix Old and New

We all know the power of mixing old and new and vintage pieces are a great way to add character to a table and balance more modern styles. Mix traditional silver cutlery with globally inspired table accents to bring a touch of heritage to your table top.
