Willemien Bardawil’s ‘The girls with Flowers in their Hair' painting was created exclusively for Wicklewood. The London-based artist celebrates International Women’s Day 2021 by capturing the joy and strength of the modern woman. This collection of paintings and prints by Willemien tells a narrative of female artisans working together in sorority. Her watercolours draw on modern and traditional Mexican art and expressive Guatemalan textiles which accentuate the movement of her female figures. Through simplified forms, Willemien uses Japanese ink and watercolour to achieve her graceful and free-flowing line. Her scenes not only captivate, but will bring an air of enchantment and delight to your space.
